week 9- the goodbye

Dear Future AP Psychology students, Many of you will take this class because the subject seems super interesting and it definitely is. I personally have learned so much in this class it's crazy. I can say that this has been one of my favorite classes from four years in high school. I honestly wish it was a whole year course.               My main advice to you guys is that truly do your vocabulary. Yes, I know it's optional and who even has time for that stuff but, seriously do it. It helps a lot because vocabulary is key in psychology. Like I guarantee you that just knowing vocabulary would help you so much on tests and on the AP yourself. Also, I liked how Ms. Halfen had study plans for the vocab which, helped split up the vocab so, it wouldn't be too much on one day. Personally, vocab was the first thing I did once I got home or whenever I started my homework, so it was just easier to get it out of the way. Also, do the review questions!! Th...

week 7- anything!?!

Hey guys! Today I am going to talk about being a girl boss and how to become a confident woman #womenempowerment am I right...?! According to 2002 Motor Article in Psychology, if we base our self-worth on how people perceive us then this would lead to more anger, stress and anxiety. Jim Seibold, PhD says that " self-confidence impacts how we perceive our health." People with higher confidence tend to cope with stress more better and go to the doctor much less than people with less confidence. First of all, social media plays a big role in self-confidence. In 2008 study, people with lower self-esteem benefited from social media, because it reduced loneliness, but nowadays social media has taken a toll and, caused a negative impact on people. It has been said that one way is too get rid of the  negativity is to limit time on social media and even go as far as deleting the app if it ever makes you feel bad to reduce temptation. Secondly, self confidence in the workplace ...

week 6- personalityyy

Hey guys! Today's blog is quite interesting, it basically is just gonna tell you about my personality through 5 personality tests haha! Personality Test #1: Jung Typology Test This personailty test puts you in the category of 16 personailty types in the world that is based on extraversion, sensing and thinking.  I have actually taken this test before earlier this year for English, and I was curious to see if my personality has changed because, I have definitely had grown since, the beginning of this year. Surprisingly, I got the same type as the beginning of this year, which is INFJ. This type I have heard is the rarest type in the world, which is really cool to me. Also, I think the only thing that doesn't really match is Judging, because personally I think I perceive more than judge.  Personality Test #2: The Dark Side of Personality  This test was supposed to base your personality on three topics: narcissism, machiavellianism, and psy...

week 5- sensesss n stuffff

Hey guys! Today I found a really interesting article on smell. Did y’all know that your sense of smell renews every 30-60 days ? Woah like I never knew that. Smell is actually also the oldest scent. Also, turns out that females have a much better sense of smell than males and sense actually decreases as you get older. Age-related loss of smell is actually determined in your race. That’s so weird! Loss of smell actually also signals future illnesses and decline in smell predict death within the next 5 years for older people. That’s actually really creepy! Last but not atleast I think the coolest thing is that just like a fingerprint, we call have our own smellprint, basically our own distinct smell like that’s so neat! I also linked below the article so you guys can check it out: https://www.everydayhealth.com/news/incredible-facts-about-your-sense-smell/

week 4-lifestoryyy

Ah what a time to be a live, on the beautiful night April 10th, 2001 at 11:01 pm, a little girl a.k.a me was born in the big city of Chicago, IL. There I said my first words my mom recalls as " ba ba ba,"and took my first steps at the age of 8 months. I didn't live there as long and,  at one and a half years old I moved into a small town at the time in Florida called Jacksonville. Soon, when I was around 2 years old, my brother was born. In Florida, I actually went to two different elementary schools, because of moving into a house from an apartment when I was in first grade. It wasn't bad at all. I easily made a lot of new friends in school and around the neighborhood. I honestly could say I had the best childhood. Everyday two hours after school, all the kids in the neighborhood would come out and, we will play for hours outside from freeze tag to bicycle races till our moms will call us for dinner. I was also a big bookworm I would spend hours just reading...

week 3-bioheroess

Hello friends!!!! I am No Problemo Painkiller. My abilities are to solve problems ( from the frontal lobe) and, get rid of the pain within people (from endorpins.) Now you maybe wondering where the heck did he come from???  Well here's my story... It all started on April 10th, by the calm beaches of Florida where little Twink was born. Growing up, he was just an average kid expect for one thing. He had so many problems ( the irony). He had so many problems that He even suffered from intense anxiety and depression. It was mostly because of bullies. The bullies called him mean names and took his lunch that the poor thing was starving at lunch all day. He just didn't know what to do. Then one day...He came to the realization that he doesn't have to stay quiet. He should stop fearing and stand up for himself. Then that exactly what he did, and his whole life turned around. He begun helping people all around him with similar problems. Soon, people all around him start...

week 2 - memoryyy

Originally, before taking these memory tests I was pretty certain that my memory was great. After all, I can  remember the birthdays of anyone I have ever met ( quick memory flex haha). Who knew that my memory is actually even worse than average. Well, at least according to these memory tests. The first one I took was a short-term memory test where I had to 30 seconds to look at a couple of words and then they would disappear so, I would then have to write as many as I remember in the blanks. I scored 4/12 (yup, clearly short-term memory isn't for me). I found the last couple words easy to remember while, the rest were just blank, resulting in leaving many of the blanks even empty. For the second test,  I had to find the dot that was changing color out of multiple other dots measuring speed and visual changes. On this I scored 6.12, while the average score was 10.12. This test I found a little difficult because the dots were trippy and were messing with m...

week 1- icebreaker

Hey y'all! I am Toral and am currently a senior. I don't really have photos of anything I have proud of, but I did stumble upon this image. Last year (well this school year), I performed Bollywood for the Multicultural Show. I can say I was pretty proud I did because, I quit dance when I was 9, and hadn't really done it since. It was challenging at first, but soon I got the hang of it. Here are my 4 truths and 1 lie: 1. I have a brother. 2. I was born in Chicago. 3. I am vegetarian. 4. I am mixed. 5. I am trilingual.
